Search Engine Optimisation series: Overview
Welcome to the first in our new series of Evosite search engine optimisation sessions. Over the coming weeks we will be looking at a number of things you can do for your website that will help your Google search rankings, as well as a few extra tips thrown in on topics such as social networks and online marketing.
What we are going to cover
In this series of articles we will be covering a number of search engine optimisation techniques that you can use to boost the appeal of your website in the eyes of the big search engines, in particularly Google. Topics we will cover over the next few weeks will include areas such as keyword discovery, on-site SEO and off-site SEO.
If none of that made sense to you, don’t worry because it will all be explained in easy to follow steps that you can complete in your own time.

The Tabor Group launch Fennes' new venue website
Situated within 100 acres of tranquil Essex countryside, Fennes is a beautiful Georgian manor house that can be your home for the day, with exclusive use for weddings and corporate events.
The Tabor Group who manage and own a collection of manor houses and exclusive venues across the UK approached Evosite to redesign and develop a set of websites for their new marketing drive. The Fennes is the first of these new websites to go live with the others launching in the coming weeks.
The new website, powered by our flexible content management system has a weath of bespoke features that the client required, including accommodations modules, dedicated and trackable downloadable brochure areas as well as an extensive events module.
We look forward to working with The Tabor Group on many more exciting projects now the websites are launched.

Gold Asset Management launch their new website
Gold Asset Management a Gold brokerage with a client base largely composed of private individuals and institutional investors.
GAM instructed Evosite to rebrand their business as well as revamp their website and offline marketing material. The new website is powered by our content management system and has a series of bespoke modules added. The new look and feel for GAM is to bring their presence more inline with their ever increasing client base.
The new brochures we are designing for GAM are currently in the final stages of production but we will be adding them to our portfolio section in the coming weeks for all to view.

Retail Therapy launch their new fashion website
Retail Therapy caters for real women of all shapes and sizes and their buying reflects this. From this, they put together styles and ranges of designer labels.
Evosite were approached by the Taunton based fashion boutique at the end of last year to design and develop a new website that showcased their varied range of women's evening wear. The brief was to create a whole new look and feel for the business in order to attract new customers as well as improve the usability and communication with their existing customers..
The new website is currently a product catalogue but will be moving to an ecommerce solution within the next few months.

Fashion website Want Her Dress is launched
Set up by two sisters, university graduates, avid bloggers and the biggest culprits of ‘text me what you’re wearing’; wantherdress.com is a website offering wearable, trend-led, affordable clothes, so you can find the perfect outfit for the right occasion.
Want Her Dress approached Evosite to design and develop a contemporary website for their new fashion business. With a strong identity and intuitive navigation combined with fantastic product imagery, our brief was to give the user a real sense of the quality of the clothing and the passion behind their business.
The website has a wealth of our latest ecommerce features such as zoomable product areas, enhanced product galleries as well as advanced product filtering. All of the team at Evosite look forward to this exciting journey with Want Her Dress as their business develops and grows.

Page Management
Within our system you can quickly and easily edit, add, position and remove pages aswell as sub pages. Simply click on the page you would like to edit or the pencil icon and you will be taken to the editor for that page.
You can also add mulitple pages to your website if you have a whole new section you need added. You also have the ability to preview your page from within the CMS rather than having to open a seperate browser window or tab.
If you want to add a page but not set it live straight away then you can simply select a date you would like that page to appear. If you would like to temporarily remove a page you can click on the globe icon which will not remove the page but hide it on the website so it can’t be seen by visitors.
- Editing Content
Editing Content
Editable areas of the page appear within the editor section of the page. Text can be entered into this box and formatted. The EvoCMS editor provides you with the most commonly used functions that you would find from a desktop editor like Word.
By using the EvoCMS editor you can write text, format it, add images, create links, create tables plus much more.
From this page you can also use the tabs across the top of the page to edit buttons, video and header banners to give you complete control over the look and feel of your website.
Also on this page you can edit your search engine titles, description and keywords enabling you to tweak your SEO depending on the information on that particular page.
- Image Manager
Image Manager
Inserting images onto your website is very simple. Just click on the ‘Insert Image’ icon on the editor toolbar and a popup window called ‘Image Properties’ will appear showing you all the folders that are setup for your website.
You can either select an image you have already uploaded or click on the upload tab to upload one directly from you desktop.
There are many image settings you can use such as changing the image sizes, changing the alternative text, adding a caption to appear under the image aswell as setting the alignment of the image on the page.
- Product Catalogue

If your EvoCMS includes an online shop then an ecommerce tab will appear in your CMS allowing you to add, edit and position your products.
This module works in a similar way as ‘Page Management’. If you would like to edit your product details just click on the title of the product or the pencil icon. This will take you to the product detail page where you have all the features you need to maximise sales on your website such as the related product selector, sale prices, product options and much more.
If you have the ecommerce module enabled on your CMS you also have a comprehensive filtering system so you can quickly find the product you need to edit. This is especially useful for clients that have 1,000’s of products on their website.
- Order Management
Order Management
The order management module will automatically appear in your CMS if you have an online shop.
This area allows you to process the orders you receive on your website. There are various states an order will go through such as Open/New, Pending Payment, Dispatched and Refunded. These can all be set by you within the CMS to archive your orders efficiently.
Once you click on an order not only does it contain all your customers details and delivery information but you can also notify the customers of any delays or special promotions you are currently running.
EvoCMS will auto generate formatted invoices and packing labels with your logo on for you to print off and use when your items are shipped to your customers.
- User Privileges
User Privileges
There are various levels of user management you can setup within EvoCMS that allows you to decide what modules can be edited by collegues.
You can set up new accounts in a matter of seconds to allow a user to just edit pages for example and not to view the order managment part of the CMS.
